Story behind
the project

E-turtles mobile app

How we helped to save the turtles

The challenge was

to build an app that will benefit both fishermen and ordinary people. For that we took a few workshops with the Project Manager that gave us functional requests, processes and objectives for the product, after which we were ready to build an UI/UX design and start development. The content of the app was supposed to be simple and intuitive enough so that the app could be used from the first. One of the requirements was that the application must be able to be used in offline mode as well, so that fishermen wouldn't need to have GSM signal at the sea, and that they can save their sightings with photos and videos and to be sure that it will save and synchronize the sightings and upload both photos and videos. For that we decided that we will split the mechanism for synchronizing sightings and media. In that case fishermen had the possibility to synchronize sightings as soon as they got in GSM signal range and push photos and videos after the phone was connected to wi-fi network. The next challenge was to develop an app for six languages, which in the end was extended to eleven languages. As on of the languages was Arabic, RTL mode was also implemented.
